The Marie Hitchcock Puppet Theater is celebrating 78 years! It was established as a puppet theater in 1947. We are located in Balboa Park, San Diego, California.
The Puppet Theater, originally called the Hollywood Building, then the Palisades Building, was one of the buildings constructed for the California Pacific International Exposition of 1935-36. The Exposition was organized to celebrate the completion of the Panama Canal. The theater still runs weekly live performances for thousands of guests each year with various forms of puppetry, and showcases performers from all over.

Petrix the clown lives in a mansion with her mother, her best friend Dolly Esper, and the ghosts of the Sandwich family.
Ever since Petrix used mother's favorite curtain, grandma's couch, and grampa's pajamas to make Dolly and friends, mum's patrols have become scarier and more frequent - and toys, games, and going outside to play are all absolutely banned in this house!
But Petrix and her friends are crafty, and with the ghosts of her beloved family guiding her way, she never finds herself too far from friends or play.
Maulina, the snake with metal teeth who finds it very hard to make friends; BloodNut, the cloth moth who goes on tiny little adventures; Curie O'Katt, the shadowy Schrodinger's Cat who, in the most unlikely of circumstances, became two-dimensional; and Poultrix, the rococo dodo who simply loves to meet the locals now that he is free to roam Mum's Unruly Garden. You never know who you might meet in this mansion!
Come for a day of friendship, laughs, and some soft scares as we mount up to Hallowe'en with the cutest, creepiest dolls in town!
